Last Step: Check for any leakages; it is typical for the pipe connection to break or for the valve connection to get loose with time.
If you see any water leakage around the valve, you should consider either changing the valve or the packaging; if you change the packing, switch off the supply valve initially and after that re-tighten the packing.
