How reliable are the "verified partners" on GetSki?
#1
Hi, everyone! I’m about to go on a long-awaited trip and am currently figuring out the details of renting equipment. I want to book gear in Courchevel through GetSki, but I don’t know any of the partners personally. Could someone who has used the service before please let me know if they are really all “verified” and “trusted,” as stated on the site? Is there a risk of arriving to find the shop closed or of receiving old, worn-out skis instead of the category I booked? Please share your real-life experiences!

How does the pickup process work on site? Do the prices on the website match what they charge at the rental shop? Are there any hidden fees for insurance or boot fitting? I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who has booked through this service at French resorts.

I’ve booked through this site twice: last season in Courchevel when I was traveling alone and the winter before that in Chamonix with my family. Both times, the partner turned out to be a legitimate local shop right next to the lift. They handed me the gear after checking my passport and providing a detailed receipt. Everything was above board. If you want to find a transparent rental shop, go to https://getski.com/ and book in advance. By the way, where will you be staying in Courchevel? I stayed in Moriond (Courchevel 1650), and it was really awesome: wide, sunny runs. I highly recommend going there, too.
