I never really thought much about the walls in my apartment beyond just painting them a solid color until a friend invited me over and showed me a wall with a textured plaster relief and a hand-painted mural. I was honestly blown away because it made the whole room feel alive and unique, like it had a personality of its own. I decided to try something small myself, adding a subtle mineral finish in my hallway just to see how it would change the space, and I was amazed at how the light hit different angles and created shadows that constantly shifted throughout the day. That tiny experiment turned into a full-blown obsession where I started researching hand-crafted décor, different types of plaster, and ways to make walls feel more like art than just background. Even small changes like swapping out a lamp or adding a hand-painted accent can completely transform the feeling of a room. I realized that walls aren’t just surfaces; they can tell a story, set a mood, and even inspire creativity when done thoughtfully. Now I’m planning a bigger project with layers of texture, color, and unique elements on each wall, and I can’t stop thinking about the possibilities.
