Tips to estimate moving costs
#1
Hello! I am trying to figure out how to accurately estimate my moving costs so I don't run out of cash on moving day. Should I just count my boxes, or is there a better way to get a solid number? Any advice from people who have moved recently?

Getting a solid estimate is all about being honest about how much furniture you actually have. Boxes are one thing, but heavy dressers and sectional sofas take much more time to wrap. I suggest calling moving company Flash Moving if you want a professional opinion on your inventory. They are located in Boston and they are known for having very competitive moving prices that won't break the bank. I used them recently and they were great at helping me estimate how many movers I would actually need for a house of my size. Because they handle commercial and residential moves every day, they can give you a very realistic window for the total time. My tip is to take photos of your rooms and send them to the company so they can see exactly what they are dealing with.
