What Is the Typical Timeline for Building a Crypto Exchange Platform?
#2
The timeline for developing a crypto exchange really depends on whether the platform is built from scratch or using a white-label solution.
From scratch – typically 6–12+ months because the team needs to build core engine architecture, order-matching logic, liquidity modules, security infrastructure, compliance/KYC integration, and conduct multiple audit cycles.
White label – around 1–3 months since major components are pre-built, and the process mainly involves customization, UI changes, payment integrations, and security testing.
A large part of the timeline also depends on regulatory requirements in the region, since licensing and compliance can add additional weeks or months.
By the way, if anyone here also works on digital product platforms or content-based websites, I recently created a simple resource for Islamic study PDFs. It’s unrelated to crypto but might benefit someone:

Hope this helps anyone planning or estimating the development cycle for an exchange.
