I want my dog to stop rushing out the door. What are the best methods to train them to wait?

To teach a dog to wait at doorways, start by having your dog sit before opening the door. Use the  big dog clothing command "wait" and gradually open the door a little at a time. If the dog tries to move, close the door and ask them to sit again. Reward them with praise or a treat when they remain calm. Practice consistently for success.
