Lower back pain every morning – could an orthopedic mattress actually help? - Subhan - 02-11-2026 For the past few months, I’ve been waking up with consistent lower back pain. It usually feels stiff when I get out of bed and takes 20–30 minutes to loosen up. I sit a lot during the day for work, so at first I blamed posture, but even after improving that, the pain didn’t fully go away. After speaking to a physio, I learned that sleeping on a mattress that’s too soft or sagging can strain your spine overnight. When your hips sink too deep, your spine stays slightly misaligned for hours, which leads to that morning stiffness. That’s when I started looking into orthopedic mattresses in Pakistan. Unlike regular soft mattresses, they’re designed to provide firmer, more even support to keep the spine in a neutral position. The key isn’t “hardness,” but balanced support that prevents sinking while still cushioning pressure points. Since switching to a proper orthopedic-style mattress, the morning stiffness has reduced significantly. It’s not an instant miracle fix, but over a few weeks, the difference was noticeable. If you’re experiencing regular back pain in the morning (especially if it improves during the day), your mattress might be part of the problem. Sometimes the issue isn’t how long you sleep, but what you’re sleeping on. |
