Help me fight for my daughter's custody - Elo - 04-18-2025
Hello everyone, I'm a single mother of an adorable soon to be 10 years old daughter. I live in Canada since 3 years, unfortunately without her because I couldn't bring her with me at the time due to financial limitations.
I left the Caribbean to move there because life was just not working for me. I couldn't find a job and was living from allowances, I couldn't save money because all would go in rent and bills and the bare minimum to take care of her. I was sometimes doing temp agency jobs but it was an irregular and uncertain income. I couldn't offer my child what she deserves and I wanted this to change.
As soon as I left and came to Canada, I managed to have a job quickly during my studies but since it was a student job it was only paying the bills without being able to save yet.
Now I graduated and currently work at a better job but it hasn't been long enough to save yet because I still have debts to honor and life gets more and more expensive (especially for the rent), but I feel like it has been way too long I am far away from my baby. It's been 3 years since we're apart and it's 3 years too much missing her growing up and not being by her side when she's unwell or sick. So I decided to start the process of her immigration.
Unfortunately, her dad was supposed to come with her as his own immigration project but suddenly changed his mind, not wanting her to step foot in Canada at all for reasons I still don't know to this day. We are not in good terms anymore so he will do everything to keep me away from her...
This is why I am now gathering funds of my own but with my monthly expenses of about CA$2500 and unexpected expenses for my car, this is gonna take a long time, and enough time has passed and been lost... So I am asking for people's generosity, any amount can help.
Goal is to cover the lawyer fees (CA$4300) and the trip to go to court in person in the Caribbean (CA$700).
