Has anyone here tried custom mylar bags for storing food or other items at home? - jasonmalone - 10-03-2025

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing around with custom mylar bags recently, mostly for storing snacks, herbs, and a few pantry staples, and I wanted to share my experience. I wasn’t expecting much at first, but these bags really hold up better than I thought. The seals keep things fresh for a surprisingly long time, and the material feels much sturdier than regular plastic bags.

I tried a few different sizes and even experimented with a few designs like clear windows so I can see what’s inside without opening the bag. That small change made organizing my pantry so much easier. I also added simple labels, which makes grabbing the right item quick and hassle-free. I found a small guide online about different ways to store and label items in mylar bags (can share if anyone wants), and it gave me a couple of ideas I hadn’t thought of.

Has anyone else here used custom mylar bags for storage or projects? I’d love to hear what worked best for you, or if you have any tips to make them even more practical.
