Planning a fun road trip from NYC to Boston - Gaetan - 12-09-2025
I'm planning a weekend getaway from New York City to Boston with a couple of friends. We want to make a fun road trip out of it, not just drive on the highway the whole time. Does anyone have suggestions for scenic routes, interesting small towns to stop in, or cool landmarks to see along the way? We're looking for ideas beyond the obvious Google Maps directions.

Taking the coastal route via I-95 and then exploring smaller roads in Connecticut and Rhode Island is a great idea. You can stop in Mystic, CT for its seaport village, or Newport, RI to see the famous mansions. The drive through Massachusetts can be very picturesque.
