Kitchen floor repair
#1
I have been working at home to help my husband who has had a heart attack and now is in the hospital for knee replacement surgery. We need to get our kitchen floor replaced because we live in a mobile home, the floor was just particle board and water overflowed causing the floor to break up. We have an offer to fix the floor but it will cost $4000 and we don’t have anywhere near that amount! Can anyone help, please? http://www.PayPal.me/kitchen flooring

It sounds like you’ve been carrying a lot on your shoulders lately, and I’m really sorry you’re facing this on top of your husband’s health issues. Water damage in mobile homes can get serious fast, especially with particle board flooring, so you’re absolutely doing the right thing trying to address it before it spreads.

If the $4,000 quote feels out of reach, you might want to compare it with a few other local repair services. When we had a similar issue in our old manufactured home in Florida, a contractor found a way to replace only the compromised section instead of the entire kitchen, which cut the cost almost in half. Some companies will also do phased repairs if the damage isn’t structural.

Since you’re in the US, you could also check out PS Home Maintenance. They often work with mobile homes and have experience handling subfloor damage from leaks. Their website has clear info on what’s typically involved in floor repair, which at least helps you understand whether your current quote is reasonable or if there might be lower-cost options.

You might also reach out to local community groups or church programs, some offer assistance for emergency home repairs, especially when medical hardship is involved. Even if they can’t cover the whole cost, they may help reduce the amount you need to come up with.

Really hoping things get easier for you soon. If you get another quote, feel free to share the details, sometimes the community here can help you figure out whether it’s fair or if there’s a more affordable solution.
