Trying to get on my feet
#1
Question
Hey, everyone!
I’m writing this from a place I never thought I’d have to put into words, but I need to be honest about where we are right now.

My partner recently lost his job, and together we’re raising two children, including a 7-month-old baby who needs constant care. We also have two dogs who are part of our home and fully depend on us. Every day still moves forward, even when stability feels far away.

We are both actively trying to find work and rebuild our lives, but the reality right now is difficult. With a baby this small and no daycare available that we can afford, I’m unable to return to work properly yet. Private childcare is out of reach, and I’m still trying to secure a place that would allow me to step back into employment and contribute again in a stable way.

In the meantime, we are surviving day by day. There are moments where we have to stretch food just so everyone can eat. I can cope with going without if needed, but what hurts most is when it affects my children. That’s not something you ever get used to. My partner feels the same. It’s not just about food, it’s the constant mental weight of trying to provide and still having to make these kinds of decisions. It makes you feel like you’re failing, even when you’re doing everything you can.

On top of that, the bills are piling up and I’m currently unable to keep up with them. That pressure is always there in the background, adding to an already overwhelming situation and making it harder to breathe through the day.

I also live with borderline personality disorder, and under this level of stress, my mental health is heavily affected. Some days are harder than others, but I’m still here. I’m still taking care of my children, still trying to stay grounded, still pushing forward even when I feel like I’m close to breaking.

This is not a story of giving up. It’s a story of holding on in a very tight space. I don’t want to depend on others long term. I want to work, rebuild, and stand on my own again with my family. Right now, I’m asking for a chance to get through this moment with dignity while I keep doing everything in my power to move forward.

If anyone know any good remote job opportunities, please let me know ?

If anyone feels able to help in any way, even a small contribution can make a difference while we get back on our feet.
