From Sampath, Sri Lanka ??
Dear Sir, Madam, and kind friends,
My name is Sampath, and I’m 31 years old. I live in a small, poor village in Sri Lanka with my mother and younger sister. My father left us when I was very small — I barely remember his face. From then on, I have carried the weight of our little family on my shoulders.
Today, I am facing a serious liver condition. I can no longer work like I used to. My mother is also chronically ill, and my sister is still attending school.
Since I was a child, I’ve done daily labor jobs — just enough to buy my mother's medicine, my sister’s school expenses, and a little food. We lived in a tiny hut with barely anything, but we survived.
Now, my sister is preparing for her G.C.E. A/L exams, which will be in just over a year. She is determined, talented, and tries her best to study — even though we have no internet, no transport, and no devices.
She recently told me that she dreams of having a laptop, so she can do her schoolwork properly like other children. But with my health and situation, I cannot even dream of buying it. In Sri Lanka, a suitable laptop costs around Rs. 290,000 (about £725 GBP).
In addition, because there’s no transport in our village, she walks to school every day.
For her upcoming 15th birthday — on July /12/ 2025, my dream is to gift her both a laptop and a secondhand bicycle, to bring some light and ease into her difficult young life.
So today, I’m reaching out with all the hope I have left, to kind-hearted people like you.
? If you could support us in any way — even a single rupee, dollar, or word of kindness —
you would be putting a smile on a child’s face, and giving me the strength to keep going.

From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
May you and your loved ones always be safe, happy, and healthy.
With humble gratitude,
