Surprisingly, women welcome the prospect of being overtaken by men than by another woman. Successful women leaders across the globe (of all A- listed Fortune companies ) have realized this lack of mutual camaraderie and encourage aspiring female leaders to bond stronger within the same gender network. What triggers this internal disruptive competition among women ? Why are women unsure of themselves ? Could it be psychologically attributed to the scars of male dominance, left behind in a patriarchal world on the female psyche? Upon observing &amp, analyzing behavioral and psychological patterns of women across geographies &amp, demographics, here is my 4-Leaf-Psychoanalysis-Model that uncovers the Why behind the seek. Each leaf synthesizes a pull-back-pigment that paralyzes the perspectives of women discreetly. 1) Subordination Syndrome: Lack of pay parity, lack of inclusive progression framework and lack of workplaces that are designed to suit women send out unwelcome vibes. Fairy tales, bedtime stories and mainstream media drill in the 'Damsel in Distress Complex' among girls from an early age. Society prefers women to pursue finer arts more, than engineering and sciences. Girls are presumed to be inclined towards doll play, than take active interest in adrenaline driven sports or self defense activities. Women are brainwashed to believe that they are physically weaker to men always. Touted as less adaptable to physical stress, harsh environments &amp, anywhere where brain &amp, bran matter. Even though they are endowed with the potential to do equally well in adverse conditions of distress with their 'presence of mind' &amp, 'physical resilience'. Women, often grow up measuring poor in self sufficiency skills as their male counterpart is more likely to be coached on how-to-change-a-flat-tire , how-to-replace-light-fixtures-at-home and how-to-ignite-a-small-fire-in-wild , than them. The activities that are more relevant in the world outside, and hone a human's problem solving aptitude, team work, survival skills and solution-oriented-mindset, are classified as a man's job. Eyes that could command many a kingdoms, lower in subservience! Women are conditioned to psychologically prefer to be wowed and wooed by a man who would do the stuff for them. Interestingly, they squirm when they see another woman do it whilst they wait for their male savior. It challenges their fixed social training and perceptions. Thus, they resist and in confusion attack other women rather than lend a helping hand. 2) Consequential Confusion: Women are biologically programmed to be less risk takers. As women bear the younger ones of the species, they are engineered to be more selective and cautious to improve natural selection. Female mind is designed to be less rash. However, lack of courage to take a decision independently and being afraid of consequences is not biologically specific to women . It is the impact of social grilling and financial dependency . As more and more women opt out of workforce and claim to do so by choice, they forget the tears, sweat and blood behind the revolutions by women in past to acquire the right to wage. In the age of Commerce, some of the biggest influencers of the world are the ones with obnoxious wealth. The choice to settle for lesser pay or drop out of work may seem like a tempting luxury but it damages the will to make independent fearless choices. Visionary eyes that looked out to the distant horizon get clouded by helplessness! For example, in a typical Indian household, the oft infamous tussle between mother-in-law &amp, daughter-in-law could be attributed in most cases to this need to win affection of a common male member. That male member who could potentially give them financial security. The prospect of taking own decisions and facing results is scary for all genders but the environmental setups predispose women to cower under this fear more. 3) Minority Mindset: In board rooms swarmed by men, parliaments teeming of men and a world run majorly by Male Leaders, a woman slips into identifying herself as a member of minority. The minority sect forever stay insecure and feel validation from majority sect, would certify their future. Eyes that emanate power, lower down to please! If members of minority bond among themselves, it would not only give short term strategic advantage but pave way for long term far reaching benefits. Sidelining a female colleague at work to please a male supervisor or male peers, destroys the probability of inclusive and stronger female-female progressive bonding. The impact is not limited to a micro level. At macro level, Women Leaders keep depleting in numbers. 4) Desirability Dilemma: Biology, thou sneaky science! Laws of attraction between opposite sexes is a primitive &amp, universal phenomena. It works for both males &amp, females alike. Men do not fall for silky long tresses, hourglass figure and flawless skin out of blue. All these physical features indicate fertility quotient of a female. Male minds are biologically predisposed to notice these manifestations and feel attracted. Desirability is an innate primitive need. Women often explore their bold sides and resort to assertive stance in business world or enjoy cropping their locks as per their whims and fancies, but get flummoxed when they notice their personality does not project them as approachable to most males. 'Men prefer women who are more agreeable', 'Men are attracted to women who are demure' and so on - such random crooked perspectives float around for real and unreal, muddling female psyche and adding to her dilemma. S he is forced to restrain herself and conform to static decorum, in order to retain her eligibility to participate in the 'Mating Movement'.
