I’ve been looking into ways to get started in project management, and the CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification keeps coming up as a good entry point. From what I’ve gathered, it focuses on the fundamentals like project planning, scheduling, risk handling, and team coordination.
What makes it interesting is that you don’t really need prior project management experience to take it. That makes it a good option for students, fresh graduates, or even professionals trying to move into project roles from other fields. It seems like a structured way to understand how projects are actually managed in real work environments.
I’m thinking of preparing through a proper training program instead of just reading on my own, mainly to stay consistent and cover all exam topics properly. I recently came across a CAPM training program offered by SterlingNext, which looks quite structured and beginner-friendly.
Before I commit, I wanted to ask has anyone here completed the CAPM recently?
Did it actually help in getting entry-level project roles, or is real work experience still more important at this stage?
Would love to hear some honest feedback.
